Starry Mountain is a dramatic black-and-white macro fine art photograph that reinterprets one of my most cherished works, Twinkle of Light, into a completely new visual narrative. Originally captured after a powerful 2022 storm in Oklahoma City, this image reflects the surreal aftermath of flash flooding, transformed through the lens of creativity and storytelling.
In collaboration with my father during a reflective conversation, I revisited the original composition by rotating the image and applying a monochromatic revision, which unveiled an entirely different interpretation. What once appeared as a water droplet now emerges as a majestic, fictional mountain peak crowned by a radiant celestial light. The result is a surreal landscape: a mountain twice the height of Mount Everest, rising above the clouds and visible for hundreds of miles. This fine art macro image symbolizes the transformative power of perspective and artistic reinvention. It challenges viewers to look beyond the obvious and embrace the idea that within every familiar subject lies an undiscovered world waiting to emerge.
